I celebrated my birthday early today! Woo! Well, it wasn't that awesome, but much better than expected, so I'm glad. So I received my present from Helen, Yu, and Henry today. I love my best friends - they got me the AIR anime soundtrack! It's so rare! In fact, it's so rare (and out-of-circulation) that I don't want to open it to listen. And Ivan gave me a birthday card too (my second birthday card in my life, I think)! Unfortunately, there was little to do at my house - I had one master computer and one laptop, but even if the boys played games, Helen would absolutely be bored and we didn't quite have as much people for a fun party. Hey, at least we ate at Dream Kitchen today - it was awesome food. Too bad I didn't take a picture of it.

P.S. I purchased the tickets for BAM's Distant Worlds Concert in the orchestra section. Yay!!!

First week of Spring Semester
So Poly finally started it's spring semester - boy an I glad to have something to do instead of sitting in my house doing stuff I deem to be incompetent. So what happened this week? To be honest, there was a lot of "stuff" that happened. What exactly is this "stuff?" Well, first off, there was a snow day (YIPPEE!!!) today and all my classes/hw got pushed back. Not that homework was a problem (because i finished them all already due to my enthusiastic nature from all that restlessness of the vacation) but because I have more time to plan things out and more time to prepare for what's going to happen. You're probably wondering why I would need to prepare for HW submission, right? Well, lets just say unexpected things tend to happen to me often, so it's best to be prepared for as many things as possible. Besides today's snow day, here were some other personal events I valued as follows:
A Re-Inspiration from a Former Role Model
There was a homework from my EG forum class to read articles and blog about them. Sounds boring right? Well, a few of them do, but they're understandable. One in particular, the Stanford gravitational commencement speech by Steve Jobs in 2005, really touched me - again. Now what do I mean by again? I'm pretty darned sure that I read this speech somewhere online and it inspired me in the past, but it never inspired me the way it did when I read it again yesterday. Man, reading the same, touching article 3 years later feels completely different.
So lemme tell you this - I dislike apple. I VERY STRONGLY DISLIKE IT. Why? Because their corporate world is composed of douche-bags that try to monopolize everything and make idiot moves. In reality, I sometimes find it hard to believe that the company still survived based solely off of its name and not the product itself. Take the I-touch, for example - does it HAVE to use it I-Tunes store? Seriously? Even Zune doesn't FORCE you to use their own app. And the I-phone? Why AT&T only? And why the EXCLUSIVE contract? Even Starbucks opens its doors for everyone at the same price.
But after reading this article, I felt somewhat different. I remembered how i dislike apple for their marketing and monopoly moves, not for their technology itself. I realized that I started to hate apple because I was just supporting Google Android and their open-source software. Now I remembered how much I used to respect Steve Jobs - how he went through the worse and made it successful to this very day. I thank his speech for reappearing before me once again to help guide me to my right direction of leadership.

First Day
The first day of class wasn't that bad - we went to a large auditorium and sat there to listen to lectures. Not to mention, I got to reunite with my poly friend again! And poly cafeteria finally opened near the end of the first week! Omg, I love the soups at Polytech sooo much. Welcome back to my $2.25 lunches!
Registration for Distant Worlds Final Fantasy Concert with Nobuo Uematsu
So tickets for his concert in Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) went on sale this week for a performance on April 1st and 2nd. I can't wait to go! In fact, I'm still debating whether or not I should get the $95 orchestra seating tickets or the $175 VIP seats. I'm sooo tempted! (But i realize that it's not THAT worth it to meet him, since he'll probably have no time for 1-on-1 Q&A and would only allow for a moment's photograph and signature. Still, the temptation is STRONG. O.O
Planning for Birthday Lunch Party
My birthday is February 4th, 2010, but it is located on a the day RIGHT after New Years. Fortuntely, it's on a Friday. UNFORTUNATELY, most of my close friends will leave NYC and go back to college, so that isn't too good. Therefore, I plan to have a party this Saturday for lunch with everyone. Now the only question is where.....

The Green Hornet and what I Did After That
The newer version of Green Hornet is awesome! Well, I can't compare the one that came out recently to the older, original movie, but the technology used for the movie was A-MAZING. All the explosions and gunfire were really nice in detail and the comedy definitely won my personal awards. Unfortunately, we weren't able to watch it in IMAX yesterday, but digital 3D was nice (although the glasses proved to be annoying, as they say it to be). Afterwards, the whole group walked all the way from 34th street, Manhattan to DeKalb ave, Brooklyn. Insane, huh? Well, at least it wasn't that cold when we crossed the Brooklyn Bridge.
When I finally came home, I had to immediately go back outside to my aunt's car to buy a chair at Staples.
The chair was so awesome - but setting it up was a pain, due to its composition (A lot of steel and fabric). My legs are tired, but it was a fun day.

A Dorm Room all by herself
So I've recently installed the Blogger application to my song x10 android phone. This seems pretty cool and definitely will make things more convenient for me.
So anyhow, lisha went back to university of buffalo today while her suite mates are heading back tomorrow. She must be really lucky to have the whole room to herself. You know, I wonder how is it like to have a whole room at disposal, since I never had the chance.
Oh well, I should focus on the retake of my calc final on Tuesday. Ciao!

Winter Lonliness
So first off, I am proud to say that I finished watching Valkyria Chronicles (the anime) within 3 days. You might probably say that it's fast, but it's an unfortunate 26 episodes, so it wasn't that much. And the thing is, it was so good! In fact, I actually teared when Isara died. Can you believe it? Tears - from me. That's a symbol of good storyline right there - and now I want to buy the actual game too! (but too bad i don't have a PS3). Well, at least I have Valkyria Chronicles II for the PSP and just ordered the last soundtrack of it through Play-Asia. And you know what? I'm starting Spice Wolf today, another series that seems to match my tastes.
Unfortunately, Lisha is moving back to UB today. Lately, she hasn't replied back to me. Is something wrong? I'm a bit concerned, but I'll let it slide, since she has to repack everything and spend time with her family. (God, I miss her)

A Flurry of Messages
So today, I exchanged several messages with Lisha. Yay, it was fun exchanging text messages with her so we learn more about each other. So today, I learned that she values sleep. In fact, I can assume she woke up at around 10 AM these past few days since my messages are usually replied back at 10:45 AM or so. Hmm, seems like someone I used to know (glares at Helen). Gee, I wonder if people with the same birthday share the same traits. Oh wells. So I also learned that she's going back to UB on the 16th. I feel so sad for her, b/c she leaving her home city, or more importantly, her home again. Unfortunately we're both kinda busy too, or we could've met up and hung out. In fact, if she had spare time to hang out with me, I'd probably confess to her about my feelings. Still, perhaps I should get her a departure gift? Maybe a token of NYC so she remembers her hometown? You know, that is a good idea. And on the meanwhile, I should get something for Jeannie and April too. Ok, time to go gift hunting! And to also think about her birthday gift. Hmm.....

First Yum Cha of 2011
Today was AWWWWEEEESOOOME!!!
So anyhow, I went to Yum Cha as King Star restaurant today (formerly known as Tai Wu) with my friends. In fact, Jeannie, Jeannette and James also come today, so I was quite shocked (even though I planned the event itself). I really wanted to invite Lisha, but she said she was busy with parties and meetings today, so I'd best leave her schedule alone today. But, ah, at last - I met Lisha for the first time today! She looked so beautiful! I wanted to hug her, but she was in the car with another adult (I think it was her dad), so it was a bad moment to make any moves. Well, at least we exchanged our New Year gifts. Yeah...just seeing her today was a bliss. I purposely tried to be creative for her gift too! I bought two items, both online:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001ULD9L0/ref=oss_product
http://www.yesasia.com/us/youre-beautiful-mini-pig-rabbit-doll/1021789893-0-0-0-en/info.html
Unfortunately, I payed more money for rushing the pig rabbit doll when I didn't need to (because I didn't see lisha until a week and a half AFTER Christmas). Well, I don't blame her but at least she was happy about the doll today. And if she's happy (and smiles), and I'm happy (and will smile) too.
I put the necklace in this mini pouch and strung it over the doll's back, as if it wore a backpack - you know, like how teens wear them. I personally find it symbolic, esp with the letter engravings and the heard. In fact, I'm sure she knows that I like her, but will she accept me? We'll have to find out about that soon.
As for my her, she gave me a mug and a pair of headphones. the headphones were the typical Sony ones and the mug looked pretty cute too! In fact, the mug looked expensive and pretty creative, so that's cool. Besides, I'm just happy to get a gift to begin with since I rarely receive gifts from my friends for the holidays. This is especially true since, girls generally don't know what to get for guys. So here is a pic of the two items she gave me:

Ivan's 19th Birthday
Happy Birthday Ivan!
So anyhow, as you can obviously tell, today is Ivan's birthday. Ivan was a close friend of mine ever since my junior high school (or middle school - however you prefer to call it), IS 201. Dyker days were depressing and he kept me alive and helped me through it. I miss those days, but at least we continued through the same high school too.
At his place today, we kinda had a very, VERY casual party with a minor twist - we ate at McDonalds for lunch. So...not that I'm a fan of McDonalds due to unhealthiness, but it'd be rude to say no to Mr. Birthday-Boy. So, we ate McDonalds for lunch today. To be honest, it actually tasted quite good after not eating at McDonald's for quite a while (and for those idiots who think that you can't survive without McDonalds in NYC, well, YOU CAN!). Other than that, we just played Starcraft and some online pokemon game the whole day. And when I got bored there, I watched anime. So today wasn't too fun, but it was better than staying at home being paranoid.

Cupcakes at Helen's House
So today I went to Helen's house to assist her with cupcakes. Do I like her? To be honest, I still don't know. She seems like she's not looking for companionship, but I really can't tell - and I don't want to make other into a relationship against their will either. Regardless, I went to her house to bake cupcakes (late, as usual). and assisted her along with Kimberly and Yu. Things were pretty fun - esp with an easy-to-tease and fun person like Helen. And so we made cupcakes with frosting. That tasted gooood. Then we made marble swirl pound cake. Well....at least that looked good. LOL.

First Blog of 2011
So New Years wasn't as exciting as I originally planned. AT&T had its network flooded with messages on New Years Day and took me over half an hour to get the messages through that day. Man, it was a pain to send those messages (since I sent the Happy New Year's text to A LOT of recipients). Regardless, it made me and other happy, so it was all worth it. I wonder what surprises this new year has for me.
